-Signing of MOU Regarding Biomass Business with the Ministry of Mines and Energy of the Kingdom of Cambodia-

erex Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and President: Hitoshi Honna, hereinafter the “Company”) is pleased to announce that the Company and SPHP (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. (Chairman: MYUNG IL KIM, hereinafter “SPHP”) have signed an MOU with the Ministry of Mines and Energy of the Kingdom of Cambodia to confirm roles and cooperative relationship in energy development including biomass fuel, biomass power generation, etc. in the country.

On December 16th, the Japanese Government (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) held the “Japan-ASEAN Economic Co-Creation Forum” as an event related to the 50th anniversary of Japan-ASEAN friendship and cooperation between Japan and the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN). At the MOU ceremony in this series of sessions, an MOU photo ceremony was held to commemorate the signing of the MOU in the presence of Ken Saito, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.

Furthermore, on December 18th, a summit meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Office between Prime Minister Kishida and Prime Minister Hŭn Manêt of the Kingdom of Cambodia, after which documents related to bilateral cooperation, including the MOU among the Company, SPHP, and the Ministry of Mines and Energy of the Kingdom of Cambodia, were exchanged.

Towards the realization of “Zero Emissions 2050”, the Company will contribute to solving energy problems through de-carbonization and a stable, inexpensive energy supply by promoting biomass business that fully takes into account the unique circumstances of Asian countries.
