erex and Samsung C&T Japan Agree to Promote
Integrated Decarbonization Project Centered in Niigata

erex Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-Ward, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Hitoshi Honna) and Samsung C&T Japan Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-Ward, Tokyo; Representative Director: Jung Wonseok) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding the promotion of the integrated decarbonization project centered in Niigata.

Building upon the track record of collaboration in biomass fuel supply and BESS business, the two companies will leverage respective expertise and business foundations to explore collaboration on projects utilizing decarbonized power sources. Going forward, the two companies will explore specific areas of collaboration in the following fields and aim to establish a concrete business framework by the end of the year.

  1. Development and utilization of decarbonized power sources, including the “erex Niigata” (tentative name) biomass power plant
  2. Collaboration in the fuel business to contribute to stable operation of biomass power generation
  3. Collaboration in the BESS business
  4. Joint exploration of new business opportunities in the AI era

The two companies have a track record of collaboration in areas such as biomass fuel supply and a grid-scale BESS business in Kushima City, Miyazaki Prefecture. Building upon these initiatives, this MOU aims to further expand the scope of cooperation.
