Ensuring Sustainability in Biomass Fuels

Speedy Introduction of PKS with GGL Certification

In Japan, all biomass power generation companies that are subject to the FIT/FIP system are required to obtain third-party certification for fuel transactions conducted in/after April 2024.
Prior to this, in April 2020, erex Group's power generation subsidiary, erex New Energy Saiki Co., Ltd., became the first power generation company in Japan to receive GGL certification (Green Gold Label) *1 for Palm Kernel Shells (PKS). In September 2023, we delivered PKS, which had undergone all the procedures required for certified materials under the FIT/FIP system, to Nakagusuku Biomass Power Plant in Okinawa Prefecture. In order to develop our business with greater consideration for the environment and society, we will leverage our strengths in providing a one-stop service from fuel procurement to power generation and power sales to expand the procurement and introduction of GGL-certified PKS with a sense of speed.

You can watch the video below to see how the first GGL-certified PKS was delivered from Indonesia to Okinawa.
