Starting commercial operation of the “Buzen Biomass Power Plant”

Buzen New Energy Co.,Ltd., is a joint venture of erex Co., Ltd.*1, Kyuden Mirai Energy Company, Incorporated*2. and Kyudenko Corporation*3, and has been constructing the Buzen Biomass Power Plant since December 2017. Here we announce that this biomass power plant has started its operation on January 1st, 2020. This power plant’s power generation output is 74,950 ㎾, and it is one of the largest wooden biomass power plant in Japan.

erex, Kyuden Mirai, and Kyudenko will jointly operate the power plant in this project.

During the project period, erex will be responsible for the procurement and supply of biomass fuel, while Kyuden Mirai will provide technical support to the power plant to ensure stable operations by leveraging the strengths of each company.

The 3 companies will continue to promote the business that utilizes renewable energy both in Japan and abroad and contribute to realize global warming prevention and a low carbon society.
